Instabrick is a real crowdsourcing project: the members of our community, the Instabrickers, contribute to the project’s growth by providing new information and photos about bricks, sets and minifigures every time they scan new items and add them to the database.
It is a project for brick lovers made by brick lovers… and funded thanks to brick lovers!
This is our story
The first step towards the creation of Instabrick: we launch our idea on Kickstarter, a crowdfunding platform dedicated to financing creative projects
Thanks to the support of 479 backers, the Instabrick project is funded at 125% on Kickstarter.
Following the success achieved on Kickstarter, the Instabrick project also lands on the Indiegogo platform, where it collects a total of € 82,083.00
A few months after its launch, the Instabrick project is publicly presented at CES in Las Vegas, the most influential Tech event in the world
Despite all the difficulties due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the production phase begins less than a year after the start of the project
The first Instabricks are shipped to the backers of the Kickstarter and Indiegogo platforms, with a limited edition LEGO® brick printed with our logo attached
The e-commerce platform to buy Instabrick or the Backup Kit is officially online on the Instabrick.org website
The new version of the algorithm allows for more precise identification of minifigures, printed parts and stickered parts
Thanks to the contribution of over 3000 Instabrickers from all over the world, the image database grows day after day, making the identification of bricks and minifigures ever faster and more accurate.
